William Everett "Billy" Preston (September 2, 1946 – June 6, 2006) was an American rhythm and blues musician from Houston, Texas raised mostly in Los Angeles, California.[1] In addition to his successful, Grammy Award-winning career as a solo artist, Preston collaborated with some of the greatest names in the music industry.

Preston began playing piano while sitting on his mother's lap at age three, and he was considered something of a child prodigy on piano and organ. By the age of 10 he was performing in the bands of gospel singers Mahalia Jackson, James Cleveland, and Nat King Cole. At age 12 he began a side career acting, and appeared in the 1958 Paramount Pictures film St. Louis Blues, portraying blues composer W.C. Handy as a young man. In the 1960s he performed with Little Richard and Ray Charles. He also began a recording career as a solo artist with the 1965 album The Most Exciting Organ Ever. He was also a regular on the mid-1960s ABC-TV musical variety series Shindig! as a member of the show's house band.

The sheep shown above were created a few years back by artist Jean-Luc Cornec, who ironically doesn’t even have a website. He took rotary phones and built the animals for an exhibition at the Frankfurt Museum of Communications.

Los Angeles-based artist, Ramon Coronado, is in the midst of a twelve-week project that deals with “reclaiming an ordinary, everyday object and transforming it into something with a completely different purpose.” His first effort, titled Mercado Negro (Black Market), takes the ubiquitous shopping cart and turns it into usable pieces of furniture and playground equiptment.

Each Lightbot is hand made by Tremonto in his New York studio and will be numbered, signed and will come in its own custom box. The BeatStreet Club is a group that is mix of Hip Hop, Jazz, and R&B. You won't find another group with a sound quite like theirs. One of my favorite shows of all time is the Cosby Show. There was one particular episode where Hecliff, Clair and the kids performed a song the the grandparents as an anniversary gift.

This weekend I had the pleasure of seeing this group perform. Their show is like Spoken Word meets Rock & Roll. It was pretty dope. Below is their bio, video of a performance and a link to download their album.

We think is about time you travel to Berlin to meet on of the most talented Greek artists, Konstantino Dregos. His sculptures, although not always easy to define, are surprisingly inspiring and at the same time they challenge our perception of the beautiful. Often what is implied in his work is stronger than what you see at first glance and this is quite challenging.

Raydio was a funk and R&B vocal group formed in 1977, by Ray Parker Jr., with Vincent Bohnam, Jerry Knight, and Arnell Carmichael.

The group scored their first big hit in 1978 with "Jack and Jill", which was taken from their debut, self-titled album. The song peaked at #8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, and reached #11 in the UK Singles Chart, earning a gold record in the process. Their successful follow-up hit, "You Can't Change That" was released in 1979, and lifted from their Rock On album. The single made it up to #9 on the Billboard chart that year.
