Jean Paul Gaultier Kids

Jean Paul Gaultier unveiled his debut kids line as part of the a/winter men's show in Paris. The line is produced by the mega- power of Group Zannier, who also produce the licence for Little Marc Jacobs and Kenzo. Mini-me seems to be a popular trend in the world of fashion, with Phillip Lim, Dior and Chloe all replicating miniature looks from the adult lines for which the junior Gaultier line translated well. The collection, for which the models thundered down the catwalk in, appropriated looks from Ray Petri's Buffalo style crossed between the garb of orthodox Jewish men. Novel black suits with deconstructed raincoat details decorated trousers, top hats adorned most looks. Trousers were tight at the bottoms with large pleats and gathering at the waist. The highlight being the only none-black look of the collection, a signature Gaultier raincoat trench, exaggerated flaps and straps looked neat and slightly conceptual. Although not the most wearable collection, this was just a taste of things to come, according to the press team, who promised a larger range of looks to be released later in the season.
